A handbook, filled in
Short and specific beats long and vague. This is what a few entries look like.
Routine · 7:00 AM
Luna: 2 scoops + fish oil.
Meds · 8:00 PM
Otis: 1 allergy tablet, hidden in cheese.
Park · 4:00 PM
Miso: east gate, not the dog run.
Made-up pets. Your handbook holds as many entries as your pet needs.

| Several sitters or a team | A copy each | One handbook, shared with whoever is covering |
Questions
What is a pet care handbook?
Everything someone needs to look after your pet without you: what and when they eat, walks, medications, the vet and an emergency contact, how to get into the house, and the quirks only you know.
Is a paper handbook enough?
For a weekend, often yes. Our printable checklist is a good start. Paper goes out of date when a dose changes, can't tell you whether the evening walk happened, and a door code on a fridge note is visible to anyone in the house.
Do pet sitters keep a handbook for each client?
Good ones do. A handbook per client means no texts asking where the leash is, and a record of every visit to show the pet parent.
